Need some recommendations for what type of machine to use, cost, and an embroidery computer program:

I'd like to take photos or original artwork and embroider the photo or art onto material.

I suggest you check out Embird. for price and ease of use. It has everything at fraction of the cost of most dgitizing, sizing etc programs.
It has an extra that does photo stitches. another extra that gives you little pictures of your designs in your files.
There are many fonts available and you can size them up or down however you want.
A mere click of the mouse will adjust density and or size.

Can you tell I am sold? I have had it for 2 years or so. I don't have the digitizer yet ...it's next on my list of wants and gotta haves!
