Whew, I was telling my hubby about this cool machine with the built in stitch regulator so he decided to price them for his "inexperienced quilting wife!" Well, between $4 - 5000.00 in BC, guess I will have to get a lot more experienced to warrant that one!!

I've seen long-arm quilt machines with this - and I WANT ONE.

It is out and Bernina is Thrilled! The pricing is all over the map. The new Aurora 440 is causing quite a stir. The machine can include an embroidery module that uses the same hoops as the 200..which takes you from a child's leg-cuff size to the mega hoop. It reads Art format. The highest that I have heard of the machine selling for is about $4500 including the embroidery module which is about a $1000 option. My dealer is selling the complete model for about $4000, $3000 with the module. Some dealers are selling for much less.

It comes with something called Editor Light software which is a very simplified version of the Artista Editor Software but is necessary because the embroidery module of the machine cannot be used without a computer. It does not have a stand-alone embroidery computer in the machine. This and it's sister the 430 (which does not have the BSR) replace the 155 and 153 machines.

There is some sign that there are at least two other machines in the wind to be released in this line but no information on those machines have been released yet. It is thought that they will replace the 165 and the 185 machines. Currently it is thought that the Artista 200E will remain as the TOL for the present and there has been rumor from the Bernina company staff that there is a BSR that will be released as a retrofit for the 200E...some of those people say that it may be a $1800 option, but that too has not been officially announced and is only a rumor at this time. If that is true, adding $1800 to a $7000 machine would make that machine very expensive to say the least.
