My friend has a Bernina Deco 600 that she wants to sell. She started out with this machine and now has a commercial machine that she uses for her business. I've never machine embroidered before so I know nothing about it but she's willing to show me how to get started. I'm wondering what your thoughts are about this machine. Does anyone have one? Likes and dislikes?
Any input would be appreciated. TIA

I haven't personally used one. I can tell you that they were made by Brother for Bernina for a number of years and were replaced by the new Deco 330 line that is made by Janome. I guess that the Brother/Bernina contract ran out because there are other machines now made by Janome as well. The Bernina Deco line have successful machines for Bernina. It has been Bernina's policy to carry parts for any machine for at least 20 years. If that continues to be their policy, it should mean that your parts should be available for a number of years to come.

I have this machine but I have hardly used it, because I like to do freemotion embroidery and my own designs. I've been wondering why I have it and am planning to sell it, because I just keep making new designs and using them and then putting them into my freemotion book. I just added 4 dinosaurs, pocket-sized, and a large dragon, and now one of my granddaughters wants me to draw a fairy for her and embroider it on a pillow! But I revised my book, dividing all the legal-sized pattern pages and making them into two 8-1/2x11 pages so that it is easier to cc the book. A couple of people have told me they like it this size, and they usually trace the pattern pieces and just tape them together on the broken lines as I indicated. MariLynntx

MariLynn, when will the new book be ready? I am anxious. I went to the store and watched a demo on an embroidery machine and decided to stick with free motion embroidery. I like doing my own thing. Dh was happy it is saving ton's of money.

Well,he doesn't realize what I saved from buying a machine,I will spend on thread and other goodies.
