Hi, I'm going to Atlanta GA next weekend and I am looking for nice fabric stores. I don't need quilting fabric but other nice fabrics. From the info that I could find, I can't tell what is what. If anyone has any suggestions, I would really appreciate it. Thank you so much for any suggestions. |

Thanks ladies for taking the time to look at my request and for the wonderful welcome to the forum. This is all new to me so I'm kind of stumbling through. I look forward to any help I can get. Happy Sewing! |

On the Sewing World forum Regional Buddies there is a topic called Georgia Peaches. Several of the posters there are from the Atlanta area and can give you some ideas as to where to shop. They meet at one shop every so often for a shopping spree and sometimes a class. Here is a link to that site: http://www.sewingworld.com/newsw/frame_discuss.htm |

Siwian that is a wonderful site to find out more info.... ms. yankee... My fabric shop companion advertises "In town quilters, inc" as Atlanta's only in-town quilt shop.. http://www.intownquilters.com is the site addy. hours: Sun 1-6 Wed - Sat 10-6 Another fabric shop in the book for Atlanta is: Pintucks & Pinafores 4300 Paces Ferry Rd SW Ste # 405 phone - 770-384-1216 Have fun... I can let you in on a little secret.. Since I have had this book, whenever I go into my car.. I have this directory... AND I make sure that my car takes me to shops along the way. I had to trip up to Ontario, CANADA in december.. and sure as fabric hopping.. I was able to find wonders of the road way... of course, my bank account does not agree with my moves.. but.. you only live once.. therefore, I NEED that fabric... have fun Karen Karen

sewing collection... It is fortunate for me that I have 3 (I did say three) Quilt shops within my area that I visit frequently... LOL LOL... There was this directory on a near by counter at all of the stores but it never thought I needed it... Well... finally... I had to have it... It has all 50 some odd states.. Canadian locations as well.. In noticing that you reside in OHIO... that seems to be the best state for the likes of us "fabric-anonymous"... There are 79 featured stores... WOW.. MO... I will be doing a "road trip" to your state very soon... the web site for the publisher is http://www.chalet-publishing.com.. it details the FABRIC-LOUS of just seeing who has what and where.. Enjoy Karen Karen

Oh, fellow sewers, you have been so helpful. Thank you. I am interested in that book also. I registered for Sewing World and now I am afraid that I will spend more time having fun on the internet instead of doing what I need to do. I guess thats the story of us all. Thanks again!!! |

thanks Karen, for the link.. and yes, Ohio is a pretty good state for fabricaholics... its especially good for quilters....we have lots of Amish, so we tend to be even more quilt oriented than the norm!!! MO life is too short, not to explore
