I have a Janome and a Kenmore--both of which I adore.
And I have been debating on purchasing a ruffle attachment or a gathering foot for about a year now.
I have 3 dds I sew for, so it would be very useful.
Is there a learning curve with this attachment. Was it difficult to use at first and take alot of fiddling, or where there instructions?

Thanks! :bluesmile

I'm not angiem2, but I do have a ruffler attachment for my sewing machine, and find it very useful.

The ruffler attachment should come with instructions, and is not that difficult to figure out. It is a great asset once you understand it. The different brands are all similar, and work in much the same way...just make sure you get one that fits your machine.
Here is a link to a tutorial from the Brother website which may give you an idea of how they are used.

Hope this helps.
Take care,

I am not she either but GO FOR IT!!! It is one of the very best feet out there if you have a need for ruffles. The ruffles are beautiful, and even. You don't have to worry about threads breaking or adjustments...just sew and apply or do it all at once..you choose. I've done miles and miles of these for little girls' dresses, square dance dresses and home dec items. They are a little on the expensive side for feet, but they make it up in beauty, time saved and convience!

That is one attachment that has not changed much in 50 years.. Mine that goes with my Singer Featherweight looks just like the modern ones I see on the internet.. and works same.. Either 1 step or 2 just like they do now..
