Ladies- I posted this under general sewing, but thought one of you might be able to help, also. I seem to be stuck... I am working on a Wendy Schoen trapunto applique. The kit comes with four patterns and four pieces of strecth terry. I am doing a yellow duck on a light blue romper. I put a picture of it on my website, if you want to see... I have cut out, stuffed and attached the figure to my project fabric. Now I am supposed to outline the project with a backstitch but I am unsure how do proceed. Do I stitch right on the edge of the applique, through all thickness? Do I stitch onto my project fabric right along the edge of where the applique is attached? Or do I sew just to the inside of the applique itself? I at first thought that a running chain stitch would be a better choice here but it didn't look right, so I find myself trying to actually follow the directions! Also, I have a yellow here that matches the yellow of the terry exactly, but it doesn't look right... should I outline in blue? A darker shade of yellow? Thanks for your help! Julie |
