Hi- I'm making a small yo yo quilt for a doll blanket. What is the best way to attach the yo yos in this case? Would you just hand sew them together? Or I read on one site that someone used the bartack stitch on their machine. Any thoughts? Thanks, Vanessa |

I would think by hand is the best for yoyo's as you would need to keep turning and be so careful not to catch more than the edge with the machine. |

Thanks! ITA that it would be more of a pain than it is worth to sew the yoyos with a machine. I think my question is confusing. I have already got the stack of yoyos that I did by hand made. Now I need to attach them to each other, and I was just trying to figure out the best way to do that. I just don't want them to come apart too easily as it is for a 3 year old's doll. I think I will probably just hand sew them together trying to hide the knots as much as possible. |

The hand sewing is fine as long as it's strong enough to hold being tugged & whatever by a 3 yr old. How about doing a short close zig zag. Almost or even a satin stitch on the machine. Why have to turn it ? The yo-yo's are done in rows.Just tack down each row & then add the next row to that one & so forth. Just my idea of easier & quicker way. |

I think that she thought I meant the sewing of the actual yo yos which is in the round. Anyways, I decided to try the zigzag stitch. I only have one more row to sew together, and then the long strips and it will be done. It isn't perfect, but I think it turned out pretty cute for my first try. Thanks for the help! Vanessa |
