Anyone who has a business including a paypal account should be very careful. There are fraudulent paypal emails going out every day. I got one just today. Be very careful. Don't click on the links given in the email, they are fake.

Your emails should always start off with Dear...and your first and last name. If it doesn't have your name, it's a fake. Send the fake email in its entirety to <email address removed for privacy> They will look into it for you. If by chance, you have answered a fake paypal message, go into your account and change your password immediately and also send the message to <email address removed for privacy> immediately.

Great reminder, Mary! I received one recently saying that my account was put on hold because of someone getting my password. I knew by some spelling errors that it was a fake. I usually don't ever click on a link from an email, just to be on the safe side. I have sent and received payments by PAYPAL frequently and have never had any problem with them.
Good to keep reminding folks about this.

Oh yea I got one a while ago. It said someone bought a lot of stuff and if I did not hit the link that they would suspend my account.. I sent a not so nice email back , and reported them to ebay.. Always be careful with your bank accounts and credit cards..

I got an e-mail the other day, that said closing your pay pal account. I didn't open it just deleted. I don't have a pay pal account and never have.

Quite awhile back I got the same thing you did Carolyn. I just deleted it as I don't use paypal either. Oh, & I have gotten e-mails that we're dirty & sent from people that didn't send them. Somehow they can steal your e-mail address to use. I was so mad I almost got this person kicked off her server. I felt bad when we knew it wasn't her but it was never found out who did it or how. Now that was scary.

We got one from the Royal Bank the other day. A Canadian bank that we deal with. Good thing we knew better. You can't be too careful anymore.

Hey everyone, been out of pocket lately sewing for all my new girls and old ones too. LOL Anyway, I recieved a paypal one recently and sent it to the fraud email and they said it was a fake. They also said like most of you said to never click on a link in an email. Always go to the site by typing the web address in your browser and going there that way. If you are not sure always check with the website itself. My ISP had hoax email recently and everyone was having problems with viruses from that mail. Thanks Mary for the reminder and heads up.
