Hello ladies,

I have a mammogram today and am scared out of my mind. I am 30 years old and should not have to be going thru this. I have no family history of breast cancer or even breast issues. I nursed all 5 of my children. I thought when I first felt the lumps 3 weeks ago that I was crazy and that I must be wrong as it was my first self exam ever. But the lumps never went away and my doctor confirmed for me that in fact they were lumps (3) and that they did not feel like they were cists, causing her concern. I am sitting at my desk trying to make it thru the day until I leave early and head over to have them smashed into pancakes.

I think I just needed to vent.

Thanks for listening.

i spent two hours at the lab...they had to take two mammagrams of my rt breast...then a sonogram...they said they found something but i would have to wait for two days before they could be sure......i was sure hoping they would tell me that my doctor and i were both crazy and that there was nothing there.....but i will try not to think about it and get some of these sewing projects out the way....Tuesday cant get here fast enough...

has anyone else been thru this?

Hi Jada, first of all I will pray that your results are good. I am a 6 year Breast cancer survivor. My gynecologist found my lump 6 years ago and within 3 months I had a lumpectomy, lymph node surgery and started treatment. I know the apprehension involved with the waiting game. I STILL get sick in the pit of my stomach every year when I get my Mammogram in October, hoping everything is STILL ok. Like I said I am a survivor and you will be just fine. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, and I will keep you in my prayers in while you wait. Take care :bluesmile

I know how scared you are. I was one of the real lucky ones. In 1976 my dr. found a small lump in my right breast. Went back the next week for the mam. & it had grown a lot. all reports showed it was cancer. I was operated on & lump was removed & tested. It was not cancer. I had to be tested every 6 months for years but stayed ok so for. So please remember my ordeal while your waiting. There is hope that it's just lumps that do need to be removed & aren't cancer. Hugs to you & your in our prayers & thoughts.

My MIL had to have two lumps removed, and they were both benign. I will pray that yours are too. Good luck.

jada.. my dd is 24.. last year she discovered a lump in her breast and like you was terrified... she went for her mammography, they decided on surgery, long and short, it was benign, she needed no further treatment and is doing fine... hang in there.. try not to panic... we'll all be saying a little prayer for you and crossing our fingers.... do keep us posted and know that we're here...
