Does anyone know of a trial version or free format converter program that is real easy to use?

I tried Buzztools and it was easy but when I converted my formats it changed the colors

I want to try before I buy.

I downloaded Truesizer but can't for the life of me figure it out :bang:

Any help is much appreciated.

Embird is an awesome prgram!! for the price its pretty hard to beat... Basic Embird will allow you to convert, edit, change colors, resize, etc.. you can download a trial version that is good for 30 days or 100 uses whichever come first... as time goes on, should you decide to go that way, you can purchase "plug-ins" for photo-stitch (sfumato) digitizing tools (formerly known as Studio) Cross stitch, and font Engine (allows you to convert any true type font to stitches) embird is a great program, expecially for the price and given that you can buy it in modules as needed.. IN the past, I have usually downloaded the trial program from www.embird.com but I always pay for the registration from www.secretsof.com because it's about 10% less expensive...

just my 2 cents...

I'm with you Mamadus, I love my Embird. It converts batches on designs at one time which makes it so nice. You can also choose what thread company you want to use and it will convert to that thread company. I think if you don't have any other program that would be the one I would get. It does more for less money.

After reading your posts, I went to the Embird site and found they have the Ultimate Box for $139 plus shipping which sounds like a good price when it is compared to the Amazing Box at $399. Question???? Does anyone know anything about the Ultimate Box? I also went to Secrets Of to check out Embird there. Question??? Do you have to pay a registration fee every time there is an upgrade or is the $89 a one time charge? Do you have to upgrade? That did not seem very clear to me.

I have wanted something on this order for a while now but had to hold off - $$$$$. Maybe next month. Have to do my homework first so hopefully I will get the right thing.

Thanks for any help.

If it is just a program you are wanting to convert one file format like SEW to PES etc, then here is a free program and link where you can download it. It is simple to use. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do about the designs colours changing. It depends on how the original design was made, what programs and colour charts used. It can be a real pain but I know of no way around it. I take a screen shot of the design and follow it through. I often print the colour chart out and change the colours to what I want and write the cotton number beside the colour. It all takes time but unless someone has a better way, I would love to hear it.

This is the link. I hope it is what you are after.

I have the Ultimate box which I bought when I got my first embroidery machine, the pe-150.. I liked the ultimate box just fine... I know the ultimate box cards will hold more designs than the Amazing Box cards and other alternatives...most cards usually hold 6 designs... the ultimate box and card will take a certainnumber of stitches, not a certain number of designs... I know I have had as many as 30 designs on my card... which makes it much easier than having to keep going back to the computer all the time... re: Embird... when I first downloaded Embird, it was version 8... then there was an upgrade to Embird 2003 (that cost me $15) If I remember correctly, I don't think I had to pay anything to upgrade to 2004...secretsof always has the best price for registration... but do your downloads from the Embird site... for some reason, I seem to have a problem with downloads from secretsof...

Saydee and Mamadus, thank you for the information. I am seriously considering the Ultimate box and after I get it, I will be able to utilize the other program. I most likely will also go with Embird too.

Thanks again.

Nece.. when you order your ultimate box make sure you get the right kind of card for your machine.... If I remember correctly there are two different kinds of cards...
