Okay Mary I started it off. I think we skipped spring here. It's been in the 80's for the last couple of days. If it weren't for the rain today I would have thougth it was summer time. Tomorrow it's suppose to be a little cooler Highs in the 70's and lows in the 50's to high 40's. Not bad for the end of March. Our cold weather is over with. We never have frost after Easter.

And that reminds me.....................Happy Easter Everyone!!!!!

If you don't celebrate, have a super long weekend.

It is nice here, very sunny and warm. Still lots of snow around but it will melt if this keeps up.

Over the weekend. (Easter) we had violent t-storms, rain like you would not believe and 70, yes I said 70, tornado warnings..not to mention it's been hot already...the a/c on during the day. (76-80) Next week we'll probably freeze again....Then its our usual 80-105, humidity 50-100%, rain every day. (if no rain then fog...weird) and don't forget..it's almost HURRICANE season. Yay !!!
We all can't wait for that one...

England - wet -
just as well, we have had so little rain over the past year we will be facing water limitation this summer as the reservoirs will be empty.

Unfortunately it needs to rain for a month or so - drat.

Hey Jan haven't seen you lately around hope everyone is okay.

The weather here is wonderful. Cool days and chilly nights but I love it. Soon it will be in the 90's so I'm not complaining. Nice walking weather. Lord I need it I gained 1.8 pounds the last two weeks No more candy for me Thank You. I didn't know why I couldn't control my appetite these last two weeks I wanted to eat the refrigerator, but I found out why I was doing all this crazy eating. I thought I was finished with menopause but after a year and a half my little friend came to visit me today so there you go the cravings and weight gain that comes with her. I'm so glad it was biological instead of just me being weak and going back to my old self. I've done so well on Weight Watchers I didn't want to start gaining it all back after all this. I weighed in this morning at 52 pounds lost even with the 1.8 pound gain. I'm a happy camper.

Jan if I could figure out how I made my pic smaller the first one I'd change it to my skinny look but I have to keep this one for now until I figure out how to make my pic smaller so I can change my avetar.

52 lbs., WOW!!! Good for you.

That is a huge accomplishment. I am losing very little so I began exercising and weight training. I have lost 23 lbs. and can't get any further. I want to lose another 10-15 lbs.

Mary the weight I lost was in the beginning. I lost it very slowly. I haven't lost but 8 pounds since October but have been staying on WW all except a few times going off it. I still need to lose 20 more pounds to be at my goal weight and most people tell me I don't need to lose that much they think I'm okay the way I am but I am at 158 and I'm only 5 ft tall. I am very much smaller than I was as you can amagine but 20 pounds will make me closer to the charts in the doctors office. It's hard to lose now that I've lost all that but I'm hanging in there. Bren started us off with this, I can give her all the credit for me starting on this "Way of Life". It has to be a change in life style in order for it to stay off. Keep going you can do it I got discouraged at first not losing but it will all come off if I can just keep going. The good part of WW is that you can eat almost everything you just have to count your points. Good Luck.

We are having nice weather for the north. Mornings are 2C and the afternoons hitting 10C. We are back in mud season though as we had lots of snow just before Easter. Some places had almost 2 feet; we got 6" of the stuff. Still snow in the sheltered spots and will be for some time yet. Weird but we can still get another huge dump of snow and the farmers will want it after the land thaws out. That way they get lots of moisture in the land.

I started working out again. I am doing the Leslie Sanone's 15 minute mile (walking) and ball exercises. I have lost a couple of pounds this week (just the start of the diet). Though I am menopause, I still get cravings and out of control eating. I spent the past two weeks getting it under control again. I am following Weight Watchers though I can't get to their meetings. Too many other things in the way to travel 60 miles one way to the meetings and there are no Saturday meetings.

I just finished 21 of 34 credits on my masters. I want to be done June 2006. I am looking forward to that date. I enjoy doing my masters but it is time consuming. I don't have another life right now and I miss sewing every day. I am doing a bit of sewing right now as I am between courses. That does help but it will all go away on April 19.

Best run and get things organized for school.

I was going to sew all day but when I put the dog out it was so nice I grabbed a book, my CD player and a bottle of beer. I didn't get much reading done because the dog kept throwing balls at me and then I started feeling like the sun was burning so I came in but it is beautiful.

Ladies it is typical April weather in the North West of England. Tuesday was briliant sunshine although chilly. Hail storms, torrential rain, gales and thunder yesterday. Today we awoke to snow! It is very confusing for the wildlife.

Yup, spring is here! We had our first trek to the cellar (located under the center of the house) tonight. After the F5 a few years ago, they have installed sirens around here. I had been intermittently been watching a couple of stations who had just said that the storm over Tinker (MWC area & Patsy) was breaking up...all the sudden the sirens went off and there was a tornado located just two miles away over my FIL's house and headed straight for us...fortunately for us, they don't travel a straight path. I hear that it did touch down and a road was blocked off...but I don't think that it stayed on the ground too terribly long in this area...the thing really moved through fast. It did take out the power lines though and we didn't have power for 4 hours. (I'll trade a little lost power for a safe home anytime.)

It has been so beautiful here. The sun has been out and the trees are getting those tiny buds on them. Those little buds on the trees make me feel so happy every year. WOW we made it through another winter!!
Usually it rains here from now until June. The farmers are already complaining but everyone else -- about 1/2 the local population -- is walking around with a grin on their face.
We don't get tornados like the Midwest but we had some minor flooding a couple weeks ago with heavy rain and snow melt.

We're in the 50s, Susie, and you can't imagine how good it feels. Even the animals appreciate it. Driving home from the movies last night (Sin City -- don't bother) we almost hit a woodchuck, two bunnies and saw a bunch of deer. They are all out enjoying the nice evening weather.

You can really tell it is spring here! We've had a couple weeks of absolutely perfect (mid 60's-70's) weather here. Except for that tornado the other day, things have been lovely!

We have blue birds, mocking birds, robins everywhere. A road runner has taken up home in our front evergreen trees, not more than 14 feet from the front door. It is a bit unnerving to have it run into the hedges when you open the door. We have red buds blooming everywhere with the pale green of the trees leafing. It is beautiful here.

Dorothy, I would love to live in a tree house this time of year and sleep under the stars. It feels so crisp and nice. Not shivering and not sweating your brains out. Just heavenly. It's been a little windy the last two days but hey..... it can't be perfect all the time.

Well, It was a long time ago. Trees tend to die slowly don't they? I mean they don't just keel over like people do so you would have time to move out. But yeah, your house would be gone. It was in California though so there is no guarantee you house won't just shake apart some day whether it is in a tree or on the ground.

I think a tree house would be better to live in during the hurricane around here the houses usually wind up in the trees, (Water pushes them there) :nah: I would be okay in a tree house until the lizards came up and reached me then I would be :bolt: out of there.

But if you really want to know I'll take the occasional hurricane threat over the snow every year any day. I better not talk too quick I might be eating my words.

We're headed for a streak of weather that is going to stay near 100 or more over the next week or so. We're long overdue for this weather but last year we didn't get it, so it is a little harder to take this year. It has been horribly humid but the farmers are harvesting their fields so we should start to dry out pretty quick (that is also when the weather gets hotter according to the weatherman.)

On a positive note, DH's tomato patch is loving the hot weather. So far, we've had quite a few from our 8 plants. In fact, I'm hoping to make some salsa this afternoon from them.

Patsy,
I just finished making salsa. It has FINALLY stopped raining so much. I've just started getting good tomatoes. The first tomatoes we had were splitting from so much rain.
The okra has finally started producing too, since it's been so hot lately. That's one good thing about the heat.

We've had temps in the 90's F with the heat index at 100-108. The pool feels more like a bath now.

Hot and humid with a severe thunderstorm hitting us about once a week. This weather surely does not make one want to be outside.

The humidity went down here for the weekend. That was nice because I was wandering around a state park for a writing assignment.
Sometimes this job isn't so bad after all. It was beautiful. Today if the humidity goes up I will be inside writing anyway, so no big deal. I try very hard not to complain about warm weather -- save my gripes for the cold and snow -- but it has been downright oppressive this year.

Margot, funny your kids are getting out of school. My twins start band today and the school starts Aug 11. It has been miserable here. At 1:00 this morning it was still 87 degrees.

tee hee Pam, I know it confuses people but I really am a Magot not a MaRgot. When I eventually grow up I'm planning on being a butterfly.

Sorry about that...know what you mean, it Roper, not Ropper or Rogers...I woke up in recovery after surgery with something over me telling Mrs. Rogers to wake up...I told her to go find a Mrs. Rogers...Mrs. ROPER wants to sleep.

My friend is a hair dresser. She said the weather is great for business. And her husband has a pontoon boat rental. They are rolling in dough this summer.

And there was little me considering moving back South to get some decent weather! Think I'll stay put.......

.......at least the fields are green and I don't have to water the garden!

Here in the south eastern part of the states, it is a normal summer...hot, hot and humid. But this summer is a little hotter. It hasn't reached 100 since 2000, but did yesterday and probably today too. When I moved to SC a year ago last April, I was so surprized by the green. We are in the north western corner of the state, close to the mountains and there are so many trees and everything is so green. I have lived in Texas, Arizona, California, Nebraska, Iowa, Kentucky, Florida, now SC. I think this is the most beautiful place. We had a lot of rain in the spring, but not too much lately, except for Cindy coming through and staying a few days. And to think, school starts in a few weeks here.

School starts here soon too. It's so humid you can see the haze. I don't know what the people here were thinking when they changed the school schedules to start back so early.
When I was a kid, we started back after Labor Day.

We started around the 14th of Aug so this year, the 11th isn't all that early...but it sure seems early. The reason we started early was because we were a farming community and kids got out in spring for planting. The "city" schools around started back on Tues after Labor Day. Now everyone is starting within a week or so of us so that they can get out between Christmas and New Years...and a lot of days inbetween. We went to school on Christmas and New Years' Eve and got Christmas Day and New Year's Day off. My kids get at least one day and sometimes two days off every month now. When I was in school absolutely nothing was air conditioned either and it was always around a 100 degrees when school started. We would be so hot that we couldn't think.

I've got 2 INSET days (in service training) one the 1st and 2nd of September and then the kids are back on the 5th September. I remember being told that July and November are the wettest monthes of the year. This means that I am looking forward to August being hot and dry when we are on holiday....ever hopeful me.
