I don't know of any online tuitorials, but here is a good book that includes patterns and technique instructionals. The description reads, "This book features sweet little duckies, teddy bears, furry bunnies, delicate flowers and dainty bow embroidery designs, just to name a few. You get a complete pattern assortment which includes a daygown, round yoke dress, high yoke dress, high waist dress, two sun suits, three bonnets, christening gown, kimono, quilt, and two pillows plus embroidery techniques, heirloom machine techniques, and a complete hands-on approach to completing the projects! Now in its 3rd printing. Soft cover, color photographs and line illustrations."

Also, Mildred Gould's patterns come in a booklet format and are VERY instructional for heirloom techniques... I used them lots when I started heirloom sewing.
