Hi All,

So, is this the new site, or are they still working on migrating content from the old one?

If it's the new one, how do we like it? What's better about it? Worse?

If not, what's the biggest complaint about the current site's content management system?

Thanks in advance for any thought's you'ld care to share. I'm evaluating different CMSs, and have a special affinity for sewers, so I figured I'd post here to see what y'all think.

Anyhoo, best,

:)ben

I hope there's more kinks to get out yet. Glad it's up & running though. The counter for how many times you've posted isn't right. Like it can't keep up & falls backwards at times. Then there doesn't seem to be as much on the home page anymore & not as easy to find stuff at times. You can't get to the forums from there unless they have changed it since I've been there last. The new post gets real short at night also. That's not good for different times in the states. But, I'll live with whatever just to have it up & running ok. I love this site & couldn't ask for anyone better than our Mary.

There are a lot of kinks to be worked out yet and I have been slow fixing them. I know this. It has the same great people and friendly info. It could be a lot worse, it can be much better and it will be. It's a huge learning curve for me as well as everyone else.

You can get to both the boards and the chat room from the homepage. There is a link.

There isn't much wrong with the new system, it is me getting it to work at it's best that is having the problem.

You do a &%$@£&£$ sight better than I could.
I can find my chums, ask questions and find the projects - that'll do for me. If I have any nit picking it's the way the reply box sometimes pops up so big it crawls off the screen to the side so much so that I can't scroll over and use the smileys. but bearing in mind where we were.... WE LOVE YOU MARY

Hey Gals, I wasn't complaining I was just answering questions that I thought was wanting answered. Read my post again. I love this site and Mary does a wonderful job. I haven't been on the home page for quite awhile so didn't know you could get to the forums now from there. I figuered I was answering questions to help Mary out ...period.

I think that question was posed by a newbie to the site.. Her post says # 1-- Did any of you notice that.. I think Mary is showing marvelous restraint to be nice to her.. I feel like saying "nobody asked you to solicit our opinions, on OUR site.." She does not know anything of the history... That is what upset me...We are doing very well.. People are just not experimenting to see what they can do from the Home Page.. I have been able to find everything from there .. Yes, it took a few minutes of experimenting, but Hey, its worth it! ! ! ! Mary , I think you are doing a great job, after all, we all know you have had your hands full, lately.. We (members) understand and love you and what you do for us..

We love you Mary and all you do for us, don't let anyone tell you different. I agree esp with Magot, I wouldn't have a clue how to begin to put together what you have to share with all of us, who love to sew and craft and just talk to friends and share our lives. THANK you very much Miss Mary

I have to admit I wasn't familiar enough with the old homepage to be able to say I like this one bette or not.. I do think that sometimes its a little difficult to navigate to find what you know is there.. but all in all, its fine with me... it did take me a bit to figure out how to get from the home page to the forum.. but I finally figured it out... and you're right... it pays to take the time to play around on the homepage to figure out what's where...

just my 2 cents...

Sometimes the new visitors point out things I need to pay attention to. The site is clumsy at times, but it will get better. I haven't been put off by any remarks. It's all in a day's work. LOL.

I thank you all very much for everything!

Your avatar may need evaluating. Is it appropriate? Is it disrespectful? Is it offensive? Or is it still under construction? What are you trying to portray? Maybe time would be better spent in that area than in this one.

Mary has done a fine job with this site and for one, I have had no problems navigating. She knows if there is a problem and she will correct them IF they arise. We are satisfied and have fun here. It is a very helpful site and we appreciate Mary for all that she does.

If you stick around, you may learn something.

I have two cent's I am not using right now,so will put in my two cent's worth. I love this site and I happen to know, how much work goes into running a sewing site and the motivation behind doing so. Mary has given me so much help, she has been a friend I may never meet in person, but I know I can send a pm to and she will be there. I don't know why anyone would have problems with this site. I would love it no matter what the homepage looks like.

Ok,thats it for the day.

I rarely see the home page--I just open to the forum. I do this from work and don't have a lot of time just now to experiment. But I'll be happy with it any old way it looks.

I have my computer set to when I access the internet, the S-W-N homepage comes up as my standard ?? whatever you call it.. Its a lot nicer than the RoadRunner home page... and saves me time, also because its always the first destination I want, anyway..
