I just traded in to a Pfaff 2027 (It's a new quilt machine they came out with) and I tried stitching some of the stitches and no matter what I do, whatever stitch I choose it randomly sews straight, loose zig zag and then goes backwards on its own. I have not been able to get a real stitch out of it. I turned off the machine like the manual said and turned it back on and the same thing happened.

For those with computerized machines, does this happen sometimes and what is it? I will be taking in back for them to review. (Mercury is Retrograde so machinery can misfunction easily till it goes direct in 11 days)..

I wanted to sew tonight!

I think you might have a lemon...but I've never even seen a Pfaff..I know if my computerized machines did that...I'd head straight to the dealer.

I had an old Kenmore that used to go backwards every once in a while. The first time it did that my eyes just about came out of my head.

Take it back quick!

I just got the 2027 from my wonderful hubby for a few "favors" that I saved up, ie Birthdays, Anniversaries, Mother's Day, ect. I LOVE my machine, and have had no problems. I just ordered an extension table for my quilting habit, and can't wait to pick it up.
I would love to chat about any problems or tricks that you may come across. Both of my quilting teachers have Pfaffs and I have learned TONS just from talking to them!!
