Hi Everyone:

I am sewing for charity and looking for baby knits (preferably in Canada) so that I can make some sleepers and onesies. Does anyone know any online sources that I can try?

I have visited the local Fabricvilles, Bouclairs, and Club Tissus here in Montreal & Chateauguay, QC. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have also visited Timmel Fabrics online!

If no Canadian sources, does anyone have any trued & tried American sources? Someone that you have used before?

Thanks for the help!

Hi Mary:

Thanks! I did look through their website last night and found a couple of bolts that were good for what I was wanting to do! Will definitely place an order for that material - price is right and I don't have to bring it in from the States (duties & taxes)!!!

Are there any others out there that a person can look at! I am just looking for a little more selection! Maybe I just need to contact the person at Wazoodle and tell her what I am looking for and she can help me further?!?

Anyone else with ideas?!?

Thanks again for your help Mary!!!

Georgina, tell Wazoodle that you are doing it for charity, they may give you a deal. They are a good company to deal with.

Thanks - Well, you learn something new every day!! I would have called them sleepers. If my daughter who I hope will give me a grandchild someday and lives a looooong way away were to ask for onsies I wouldn't know what to get!

When my dd was an infant (34 yrs ago) lycra had just come out as had sleepers and the Stretch and Sew shops. I made several pairs of sleepers. They are probably still being used somewhere the fabric was so thick. At that time I put denim type snaps to close them and thought I would knock down the house banging them in. We've come a long way in sewing since!

Here in the South the little one piece is called a "onesie".. we used to call them "rompers".. The ones that are long sleeved, and have legs and feet are the "sleepers".. No legs on a "onesie".. Just ribbing , like the neckline..

Have you tried Fabricland?

Fabricville in Quebec is the same company - thanks! I am going out to Calgary on holidays at the beginning of July. Maybe I will see whether they have any different stock that the stores here have or if there are any different stores out there!

Onesies?

Someone gave a really good description of the onesies! I am on a charity crafting list - and it took me FOREVER to figure out what a onesie was! :)

Thanks for the help everone! Have a great day!!!
