Hubby and I were walking around Sears and he was looking at the big-screen TV's and I walked over to the sewing machines. I was looking at the one on the sale table.

He came over and asked me if I liked it to which I replied 'of course...who wouldn't!. LOL But I told him that he'd better not as we had better things to get before a 'toy' for me.

Well, lo and behold he came home with it for me the next day. It was regular $349(cdn) and he got it for $179. It is an Euro Pro. It has about a million different stitches that I'm sure will take me a month of Sunday's to figure out. AND.... it doesn't sound like a machine gun when I use it!!

Maggi...who is very happy that the pile of fabric all cut out and ready to sew may finally get done!!

:Canada:
Have a great day! :)

What a star! Give that man a hug!
It is hard - there is a tendancy to put "other things before a toy for me"in a lot of us. Not something my hubby suffers with!
Hope you have many happy hours of fun!
love and kisses, Jan

What a great surprise! Please keep us posted on how you like the machine. I have a Euro-Pro serger and so far I have had no complaints. I've been comparing the Euro-Pro 1000 stitches (computerized sewing machine) to other "name brand computerized sewing machines" with their features and price. So far the Euro-Pro is by far the better value for the money. Have fun with your new toy. :dave:
Happy sewing/quilting/crafting

Congratulations!!!!
Nothing says I love you like a new sewing machine. :dave:
Roses wilt, candy goes to the hips, but a sewing machine (or serger, or embroidery machine-lol) is a gift that keeps on giving.

Enjoy! and share pics of your new projects with us! :bg:

Hey, my hubby just got me a dream machine 3 days ago too! I'm turning 50 next month but he couldn't wait to give it to me!! I have been playing, its an amazing machine (I had a really plain jane one before), I just feel like a queen and it has this 1/4 foot that really works, I can actually make a 1/4 inch seam so maybe now I can work on a certain size block and it will actually be the right size. What a wonderful guy! (I keep teasing him that he is just trying to keep me in the basement and out of his hair, he says that's not it but really, who cares if it is!!?)

My first machine was a simple 35 stitch Euro Pro and they are good machines. You are going to be well satisfied with that machine.

Your hubby is a keeper. Hang on to him. Make him a nice robe

He really is a keeper, and as soon as he gets home (when-ever that is - he's a long-haul trucker) I will have some new things to show him. Yes Mary, even

Sounds familiar, he bought a 1984 mercedes with his overseas bonus from ebay no less! :nah: and then told me he had enough left for me to get my my new serger (this was last fall), toys for everyone (the mercedes was a little pricier hmmmmm) :bluewink:

Hee, hee, I'm not alone! DH's toys are always more expensive than mine and I know he's up to something when he thinks I should have a new one! Of course, during our 24 years of marriage I have "trained" him to at least do this. (It keeps me quiet.) Gotta' love 'em!

Thanks for the chuckles. :bg:

I made a little bag for my niece and I'm going to fill it with 'girly' things like lip-chap, pen and paper, and maybe a stuffed animal. She will be 4.

The machine worked great, now I just have to get ambitious and try all they fancy stuff.

Jan aka Magot saw my hubby's toy. IT's a 1930 A Model but it's now a street rod which is worth around 30,000.00. I don't want to think about what he has sunk into that georgous thing. But I do know he paid 10,000 in the body and paint on that thing. Now that's what I call a toy don't you. Of course you never hear me gripe I get to drive it when I'm named the designated driver. :dave: :bg:

He is a Keeper!

What did he buy himself?...Sounds like all men may be related after all. At least it is that way in mine too!

That's because it is g(j)enetic. (In the jeans.)

By the way, the posts have changed color? Mine are showing up green. They are pretty but is this OK or is the board sick?
