My nephew and niece are having a baby boy this June and I want to make them a baby quilt with Green Bay Packer fabric on one side and Detroit Lion fabric on the other. I was wondering would it be best to use fleece or cotton fabric. With fleece it would end up being double thinkness, with cotton it would have batting in the middle. I would expect this quilt to be used and washed quite often and I would like it to last (kinda like a heirloon ya know). What material would be best and best for a baby. Also what size should I make it? Thank you. |

I'd use cotton because I don't really like fleece very much. It attracts every pet hair in this house. As for size, that depends on what they want to use it for. 30x40 is a nice big size for a baby to lay on the floor with or tuck around them in a stroller. Vanessa |

Vanessa- Thanks- I never thought of pet hair and lint.. but your right everything sticks to it. They do have a dog and cat. I also think cotton would be better too. And 30 X 40 sounds good. |

I think crib size is either 36 X 60 or 39 X 60.. If you want it for the crib..

just thought I'd chime in here.. the advantage of making it crib sized as opposed to the smaller size is that later it can be used as a "couch quilt" and with the sports theme that would be perfect for football season!! just my 2 cents.. MO life is too short, not to explore
