Hi. I have made a couple of purses/bags now and I can never get the corners of the purse right. I clip the main part of the purse such as the front or back to allow ease for sewing on the side panel, but the clipped edge either gets all bunched up while trying to sew the corner or not all of it gets taken up in the seam, so the clipped part is exposed to the outside of the bag. How can I get a nice square corner? -Danielle |

Run a row of stitching just a "bit" before the inside corner and afterwards. It needs to be carefully stitched on the SEAMLINE. Go to the inside corner and carefully clip once...right To (not through) the seamline. This allows the fabric to splay out and turn at that corner. When you sew, match the corners exactly at the seamline and sew on the reinforced seam. This takes a little practice. If you have some scrap fabric from a previous project, you might want to cut some corners so that you get the "hang" of it before you do your project. The trick is in the clipping of the fabric and getting the corner placed "just right".
