Did anyone watch the pope's funeral? My husband got me up at 4 to watch it. It was very moving. I am still amazed on the coverage we now get on things of this nature. I remember as a kid we would now have gotten to watch the whole funeral.

I couldn't....just couldn't bring myself to watch it. Too much sickness and death in my house lately. I didn't have the heart to watch...and I admired the man very much.

I stayed up all night to watch. Very moving. What a good man he was. I really hated the media covering it though, speculating on why he was so popular among the youth, and answering themselves with all the wrong reasons.....I had to keep changing channels, lol. Should've watched on the internet. I thought it was fascinating, such a sense of history - and sad too, he was so well-loved.

I've been watching Fox/CNN/CSNBC every night since he died. I'm not Catholic but I really admired Pope John Paul and believe that he really was a holy man. It was reported that he was shot he made the statement in Italian which means "I give my life to you" to the Virgin Mary and his life really reflected that he had dedicated his entire life to God. Young people are inspired by a man that the world can't find anything in his past or present life to "slime" him with. But, the media has tried very hard to do that in the past week since he died and they tried doubly hard to stir up a lot of controversy about him but no one took the bait to help them along. He truly was a man I wish I had had the opportunity to meet.
