Hi again, I would love to hear any feedback from anyone who owns a professional embroidery machine. I am considering trying to start a business and am overwhelmed with all the information. I feel pretty good about the software I have selected - Embird - but now I would like feedback from anyone owning specific machines. TIA grammyo3 Kathy |

kathy.. a lot depends on your budget, on how many needles you think you want.. do you want to get a machine from a dealer that has local service?? there are many variables here... I've considered it and considered it.. for me at the moment I'm just not ready to go that route... but good luck and do keep us posted on what you decide... MO life is too short, not to explore

Hi, I don't own a industrial embroidery machine, but I own what would be considered the step before the industrial machine. It is called the PR600 by Brother, I also have a ULT 2003D. The PR600 would be one to try out if you didn't want to put all that money to see it would work for you. I use it in my busiiness and is a workhorse, I also use my ULT2003D if I am really busy and need to run both machines. It holds only 6 threads, but compared to having to stop and change thread colours it is a dream. You can still do more than 6 colours, you just have more time to change them and you can change colours while it s still stitching out. It accepts floppies, compact flash and design cards and is in PES and DST format. You can go to the Brother website and check it. I love it and would probably trade it in in about 3-5 years to go with two head industrial machines. |

I've been eyeing that machine too. I recently discovered that I have a friend who is using it in her business. There is another machine made by the same company but marketed as Elna or Babylock that is the same machine. It can be purchased as a self-contined business in a box...I haven't given it a test drive yet because I would really like to purchase, so I stay clear.

I thihnk there are a lot of us eyeballing the pr-600. Its a verynice machine and really, pretty reasonably priced if you consider what the pro machines are going for... MO life is too short, not to explore

Hi, Yes, the PR-600 is a great machine it is the same as the Bablock. What I love about it is that I don't have to constantly change thread colours That is a real treat. It also can do lettering about 3 mm in height and it is very clear. It can use design cards, floppy disks and compact flash cards or hook directly to your computer and send the design right to the machine. I won't knock my Brother ULT2003D, since I have done many, many customer orders on it and still continue to use when I need to do one offs while the other machine is already running a design. Going to different needlework/craft festivals is a really good way to get up and close to some of these different machine. |
