There were pictures in our local paper of Camilla's wedding ensemble. A pale blue chiffon dress with matching embroidered overcoat. Duster to the English. Very elegant I thought. Charles actually looked happy for a change.

They also had lots of pictures of all the hats. Everyone wore spikey feathers in all sorts of styles.

I really am glad they got married. I know she was the other woman, but after several decades, they should be married. I loved Diana, but Camille
and Charles are better suited for eachother. They do look happy. I liked her dress too. The feather hat was abit odd though.....
I wish she would stop wearing bright fushia and red..... she looks better in muted colors.

I watched what we had on the TV here in the states. Of course they didn't show the wedding. I loved Diana but I'm not against Camille or them getting married. He did look happy & before was always so glum looking. I think it was sad for him & Diana that he couldn't marry Camille in the first place. Diana would be alive now & he'd been happy all those years. I don't think either did the right thing though to have the relationship go on after he married Diana. I don't believe in that sort of thing but that is how I feel myself. Diana didn't stand a chance on that marriage working.I also didn't agree to a public confessing of being sorry for the adultery. I don't think they were sorry. Confessions should be private. Guess they had to though. I do hope they are both happy though & I wish them well.

I liked the white hat for the civil ceremony...didn't care for the feather thing for the church blessing. I have noticed that for some strange reason people in the newspaper business and on t.v. were picking on the hat selection.
Here in the states we ALL used to wear hats to church, and not just on Easter. Some people still do, especially here in the south. I think wearing a hat, especially during a special ceremony or for church is a respectful thing.
I have to agree that some of the hats/feathers were a little odd, but they carry the 'news' about it just a bit too far. I think we should all wear hats and see what happens here in the states with the press...weird what the press decides to pick on...

I've only seen a couple of pictures; and neither one was very clear. But from what I could tell I thought she looked great. I usually think she looks rather frumpy and hard-around-the-edges. Of course...I shouldn't talk with my blue jeans and sweats, but I'm not marrying a member of the royal family.

Anyway, I thought whoever designed the dress really put her best feature forward and did a terrific job. She looked both understated and elegant. I still can't say "regal"; she just doesn't have what "it" is that makes the royals stand apart. But for a second wedding and with all the negative press she's had, I thought she was well put together.

But I have to agree I didn't like the hat. To me, it looked like an obvious and deliberate attempt to make sure her face didn't get within a foot of Charles'...and I read somewhere they didn't kiss.

I thought all three of the Duchess of Cornwall's ensembles were very elegant.

It's been difficult for them both. The Royal family need to modernise - they can do that while still keeping to other traditions. Other European Royal Houses have.

They should have been allowed to marry 30-odd years ago when they first met, but Charles was told The Family needed someone with better lineage, e.g. someone from the "true" aristocracy - hence why he was more or less forced into marrying Diana, that sweet, shy, girl. They hadn't learned their lesson with Princess Margaret who was denied marrying her one true love.

If you'd like to see some clearer pictures of the Duchess' clothes try www.bbc.co.uk There's a nice family group.

I agree with Dom Goddess- they should have been allowed to marry years ago and I'm glad they finally did. The confesion bit is a standard part of the 1662 service nothing special - confessing any old sins - of which we all have many - I don't consider it is a public confession of adultery unless they stood up and said those words - which I didn't hear them say. HRH Princess Dianna was a sacrifice to propiety - he needed to marry a virgin of impeccable breeding to get an heir. He knew what was involved in being part of 'the firm' and I think he should have supported her more - she found her opwn place in the end.

There were a fair deal of feathery creations in the congregation - why not! A wedding is one of the few occasions that you can really go to town on a hat. I'm a jeans,t shirt and leather jacket to church person myself!

I thought the Duchess looked very well turned out - her hair was very well coiffured and the wedding enseble suited her colouring. I thought it said that the Queen (God bless Her) was the only one who knew the words to the hymns without looking!

OF what I saw here in our papers and on tv it was a nice affair. I'm glad it's over, England has a very nice prince in line to become king one day because of Diana and I guess if for nothing else that was a good thing. I think prince Harry and William are precious. Their Mum would have been proud. And she is.

Now for a funny note. Yesterday while in the grocery store at the check out counter, and I don't remember which one it was, one of the tabloids had Charles and Camille looking at each other like they were mad and the headline read, "Honeymoon over because of a fight over Diana", Prince tells Camille, "Get use to it". (or something to that effect.) Where do these people get this stuff from? I laughted all the way to the car. Next they will have her having an alien baby or something like that. Please!!!!

I am just really happy for them. If you get to 50 years old, you should have your happiness where ever you find it. The past is the past and hopefully they will have some happy years together.

Now the feather hat was something else but I loved the hats...........wish we still wore them in the states like they do in England. My grandmother was a big tall woman who wore big hats at a sharp angle and let me tell you, when she walked in a room, everyone looked up!

Thanks for the BBC site and pics, Domestic Goddess. Personally I LOVED the hats "her headdress for the blessing at St George's Chapel, which consisted of gold leafed feathers tipped with Swarovski Diamonds"!

Does anyone know who "Lady Sarah Chatto and Daniel Chatto " are (were on both wedding lists)?

Can you imagine making up the guest list and trying to figure out who was coming after the day was changed!

I am a somewhat indifferent subject, but love wedding pictures and all the dressing up, especially hats. :Canada:

PS Re Countess not having 'it'. I don't think the queen does either! That's what's make them rather special, I think. I hear the Countess was flown to US for an image make up. Good job I think, but think she probably feels better potting about the garden or barn or playing ball with the youngsters.

My friend Wendy met the Queen last year - she was acting as friend to her auntie who was receiving 'Maundy Money' in Liverpool Cathedral. She said HM was really lovely in real life, very friendly and approachable. Tony got to press the glove of HRH Princess Ann once and was hustled away for asking a political question . ( you just don't DO that) My Dad cooked a dinner for the Duchesse of Kent once - she was more beautiful in the flesh than in pictures and very calm and peaceful.

Lady Sarah Chotto was formally Lady Sarah Armstrong Jones ( Married Daniel Chatto) HRH Princess Magaret and Lord Snowdon's daughter. So the Queen's niece, HRH Prince Charles cousin - they've been friends for years.

I hope Prince William and Henry learn from there fathers mistakes. He should have never listen to whom every told him not to marry Camela. It's kind of sad really. They have been in love for years and now only now are they allowed to marry.. I hope they have a happy life together.. It's very sad it took so long! And what is up with everyone making fun of her for wearing levi's jeans?? What's up with that. Levi's are a classic everyone looks good in Levi's
