Hi

I am new to machine embroidery and to this forum. I wondered if anyone could help with some advice. I have recently purchased a Brother 3000C and the PE Design software. Can anyone advise me on the smallest font that I can use for a label? I have tried a couple on PE Design but they come out really blurry and squished. Of course, any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

What I do is take out the fill and use just the outline.

it is very difficult to get stitchable, readable lettering smaller than about 3/8-1/2 an inch...

When I go smaller, I take out the underlay. They look much better.

Hi Pam

What do you mean by taking out the underlay? Sorry, I am still new to this, do you mean the underlay stitching or not using the stabilizer?

Thanks

Oh, no, the stabilizer is vital. Take out the underlay stitching. (That's what my software calls it.) It is the framework stitching that goes under the lettering. For some reason, when the lettering gets small it isn't needed as much and it seems to "muddle" the look of the letters....I don't know how to explain, but the letters just don't look as good.
