Are you coming for the Fiesta or just out on a wildflower drive? Have you been here before? I know where 3 Joanns, 2 Hanncocks, and a handfull of Hobby Lobbys are. We also have a place called International House of Fabric (nothing too fancy but sometimes you can find some really good deals there). I can't tell you what their is to do for entertainment, but between my husband and I we probably know where every fabric/hobby store is.

Joann Stores (http://www.joann.com/store_locator/locator_main.jhtml;$sessionid$JMCWMWQAACXGOP4SY5LR HOR50LD3UEPO)
Click above for addresses of all the Joanns in San Antonio and put 210 in for an area code search. I have been to all of them except the one on Perrin Beitel Rd.
Meadow Village is one that is in a questionable part of town. I go there in broad daylight but would never go there alone at night.
Hancock Stores (http://direct.where2getit.com/cwc/apps/w2gi.php?client=hancock&template=locator&address=&city=San+Antonio&state=TX&postalcode=78250&radius=150&Submit.x=23&Submit.y=9)
Above is a list of Hancock Stores. 7046 Bandera is the one I frequent as it is near my house has a Hobby Lobby next door for hubby and a CiCi's Pizza for the kids. The International House of Fabric is right across the street too.
938 Bandera is another one of those that I wouldn't go to alone in the dark. The others on the list I don't recall having been to as the one close to my house almost always has what I need or will get it for me.
There is a new restaurant my husband has been telling me about where it is all fondue. I'll ask him about it when he gets home as I don't remember the name.
I'll tell you all I know about San Antonio if you want just ask.

Gina, I hope your avatar is washing fabric for you to sew - not a never ending stream of household washing!

I went to the opticians today and she says my blink is just perfect! Well, you all knew that.

Jan,
I have 4 kids, a husband, a dog and 2 cats. Of course it is a never-ending stream of laundry. Throws the whole system off when I have to wash fabric. :whacky:

I have washed a lost a pair of Tony's trousers. Heaven alone knows where they are - probably find them behind the tele or somewhee similar in 3 weeks time.

So, tell that cat to do it's own washing.

I am finally getting around to posting about our adventure to San Antonio....
Pudge, by the time you posted we were already on the road....Had we known it was Fiesta weekend we wouldn't have gone......
We drove around for about 2 hours looking for a hotel...finally ended up on 1604 and 281 at the Drury Inn..it was super nice but full of teenagers!
We went and bought some new wedding rings at James Avery Jewelry at the Quarry Market. Then on Saturday we drove to San Marcos for a plant swap then made our way home.
We did enjoy the beautiful drive! The flowers were just beautiful! We stopped and picked strawberrys in Fredericksburg..they were yummy!! Also took in a market at Stonewall, and the Wild Seed Farm as well!
Even though we didn't get any fabric or craft items the trip was good!
I will remember the shopping details for our next trip!

Funny thing that you mention Stonewall....
They were having the FBG trade days and there was all kinds of people there!! Our youngest had her heart set on picking strawberries at a place outside of FBG going toward Comfort. We did and they were good!
I get down that way every now and then~maybe sometime we can meet up and you could show me the area.....
Would love to come for those FBG trade days...when does that occur???
