for the 15 and under crowd, pillowcases could be fun. If you have an embroidery machine you could put sayings on them or designs and that would make it easier since all the pillowcases could be the same fabric. For the rest you could do fabric bags in novelty fabric and have little things in it (like soap, toothbrush, sampler toothpaste etc) What a generous spirit and a big family! My family reunions are a whole 15 people in 4 generations. Mia |

This may be telling you a thing or two about me, but, I can't think of many things I'd like to sew 26 or 34 or 38 of!!!! But I do have an idea. Since you're looking at assembly-line style work, either way, how about something for the kids that the kids could do? I'm thinking, rather than sew for them, make a lace-up sewing project for them to do. I'm guessing that some of these kids are going to be travelling to get there, and could use something to do in the car. For the little ones (2-7) it could be a picture on a card, with holes punched, and you make a lace with a piece of yarn, wrapping the ends with clear tape so they can string them through. For the bigger kids, it could be felt pieces, with the holes, so they can assemble something for themselves--a change purse, a pencil case... Kids like party favors that are something to do, and this something-to-do is one that could very well spark an interest for a child in your family. If you have an embroidery machine, you could use that wash-away stabilizer to make patches for the older crowd. Maybe a family name, or the location and year of the reunion... What's nice about this is that, for the most part, you'd set the machine to go, and you could do other things while the machine stitches away for you. Andrea

An idea would be to get yourself a large sheet, you or have someone draw a tree with tons of branches. Buy some pigma pens to take with you and everyone gets to sign under a branch and for the little ones a hand print outline can be done. Just need a quick border and it gives you something unique. |

If you wanted to do this for the grandmothers....it is pretty when it is embroidered. I just did one tonight...there is a neat saying on the card but this is a pretty nice freebie. I bet it won't be online much longer because it has been there three or four weeks now. http://www.berninausa.com/download_detail.jsp?CONTENT%3C%3Ecnt_id=1013419867 3321427&FOLDER%3C%3Efolder_id=2534374302132337&ASSORTMENT%3C%3East_id=1408474395181831&bmUID=1113700609578 pam

my family reunion is also in July... a while back,Walmart had plain baseball caps on sale for $1.. I bought about 50 of them... I will embroider on them the family name, the year, and the location of the runion...should be pretty neat... In years past I have done t-shirts with the family crest on them, printing the crest on my computer on the iron-on paper and then ironing the design onto the t-shirts.... Walgreen's presently has fairly decent t-shirts at 5 for $10.00... MO life is too short, not to explore
