I haven't seen any info on the embroidery forum about threads. Besides the machines, thread seems to be the biggest expense. This store has very good thread for embroidery, sewing and for sergers at a remarkable price. Unfortunately for those of you that don't live in the US, they do not ship outside the US. I spent $21.00 today for 14 spools of embroidery thread (1000m spools) and $29.99 for a gross (144) prewound bobbins. The same thread at Walmart is $4.79 a spool and the bobbins at my local shop are $3.99 for 6!

great site. Thanks for sharing! I'll have to do some ordering when I get paid-prices seem very reasonable. Have you ordered from them before?

No Lyn, I haven't ordered from them, but the friend that told me about the store has. My friend said he got his order very quickly. I looked around the store and they have every color you could want in thread, and a good supply of general craft supplies. I haven't seen thread at these prices anyplace. It was worth the hour and a half drive. If I had bought the same thread and bobbins at my machine dealer, I would have paid about $110. Saving $60 is worth the drive. Besides, there is a great fabric shop in Gastonia called Mary Jo's Cloth store. The only fabric store we have here in Greenville is Hancocks, Wal-Mart and Hobby Lobby, and none of them have much of a variety of fabric.

Just a side note here....if anyone has a Joann Fabric where they live, this Friday and Saturday ALL threads are 50% off! I'm planning to stock up on my embroidery thread!

I like the thread from: http://www.brothermall2.com/
It's Madeira polyneon at $1.65 for 1100 yds. They also have rayon. You can order by color #. They have chart for viewing. They also have rayon threads.

the most reasonably priced threads I've found are marathon and ARC.. if you do a google for Marathon, you will find various sites, usually at least one of them will have a sale on... And www.melcomart.com has all 288 colors (1000 yard spools) for $295 and occasionally on sale for $275...

just my 2 cents....
