I saw her on Simply Quilts...she makes it look easy and Alex Anderson tried it and said it WAS easy. I don't hand quilt, but if I did, I'd try it...the rocking motion seems to tire your hand out less and it's more accurate than the straight thimbles.

DH was going to buy me one of her thimbles for my birthday this year but when I saw how much they are plus shipping from Australia, I settled for a Roxanne thimble which is quite comfortable and has made a big difference on my hand quilting,as it is very sturdy of course. Quiltworks here in Oklahoma City carries her thimbles and needles so I might mosey over there on my lunch hour one day this week and see if they have that thimble is she making in plastic and try it out. The other thing she does is she hoops her quilt so loose that i wondered why she even bothers with a hoop. I hoop my quilts fairly loose which allows for a lot a better rocking motion and really cuts down on the stress on the fingers. Patsy Patsy

Wow, they are expensive. I saw her on Simply Quilts last week. Her thimbles look great, but I don't hand quilt enough to pay such a price. I saw she had some plastic ones though. Too bad she doesn't offer stainless steel or brass. |

I must be confused. I thought the plastic one was just to find out what size your finger was.

Nope. She's made the plastic ones so they're cheaper and more people can afford to buy them to try out. I'll bet even the plastic ones are more from retailers here in the States. I'll call Oklahoma Quiltworks and see if they have any of them in stock and if they do, how much they are. If you buy from her website and pay the $9.00 shipping, they're still $23.00 and to me that's a lot of money to waste if you don't like it. Let's see, that is approximately 2-1/2 - 3 yds of quilt fabric. Patsy Patsy
