Just wanted to let y'all know that Handcock Fabric has thier crafting/cutting tables on sale for $69.99!
I went and got one yesterday. I am hoping that this will help kick start me into sewing again.
Now I just need to put the table together!

Friday --
My husband got me one for Xmas, with the ironing pad on top. I love it. It is very easy on the back.

I just got one too, after longing for one for years. I love it! SOOOOooo easy on the back, not to have to bend over so far, and so easy to fold up out of the way when I'm not using it. JoAnn's had them for $99, and they had "one day only" coupons for 50% off any one item, so I got it for $49. Woo-hoo!

The only thing -- I put it together myself, and it was pretty easy, but on the underside of the table leaves, there's a little U-shaped bracket that the leg is supposed to fit into when it swings out. But the screw holes made it impossible to place this correctly. It's backwards! And, yes, I did try switching the leaves around.

Silly thing.

But this doesn't affect the performance and I still LOVE my table!

Those little brackets fit the right way on mine but don't hold especially well. One time I had the whole back leaf drop and boom went my iron and a basket full of notions scattered all over. I keep a closer eye on where the legs are now!

I had the same thought when I first purchased mine. What you have to do is lift the leaf a little higher than level and slide the bracket down on the leg.

Hey Dorothy~
Did your table come with the ironing pad or was that something that you had to by in addition??

My hubby and daughter had a great time putting the table together....they also had issues with the clips on the bottom of the leaves. Better them than me!

I'm just so glad to have it...my back is much happier too!

Hi,

This is my first message on here. So much useful information. Think I'm gonna like this forum.

I bought this table at Hancock's on Saturday. We had the same problem with the clips for the legs. Had to move the holes slightly. But finally got them on so it holds the legs in place. I put the legs and base together myself. Then my husband came home and used the electric drill to assemble the top.

Not only did I need another work area for my quilting, etc but I now use my sewing machine on here. Have found that sewing at this height of 36 inches is so much better for my neck. But I had to raise the level of my sewing chair.

Still seems a bit strange but I certainly feel better after spending a long time at the sewing machine.

Think it was a good buy.

All the best,
Nanna

Wow~This table must be popular!!

Never thought about sewing on top of it~I will have to try that! I was just so darn excited about being able to cut my fabric without pulling a muscle in my back! This table is the perfect height to cut on! I give it 2   !!

I know you will love this group! I have found everyone to be very friendly and helpful!

Glad you found us!

If any of you know of any pictures of craft/cutting tables on the internet could you post the links? It's not as easy here in Spain to find those kinds of things, but my husband is very good with wood, furniture etc. So if I could see different models, or maybe you could take pictures of your own tables, perhaps I can get him to make something up for me!

Thanks!

I had the same thought when I first purchased mine. What you have to do is lift the leaf a little higher than level and slide the bracket down on the leg.

That still won't work. It would be like putting a diamond-shaped peg in a square hole.
