The pattern calls for something I'm not sure what it is!!! Here is the pattern....... Gimp is jsut a decorative braiding. In your picture it is the tan braid that does the X's on the right hand side. Summer Summer

If you've ever had sewing classes for your machine, they have probably had you do reinforced button holes made with gimp cord. In that size it looks a bit like kite string but is a little smoother like crochet thread. In the small size it is hard to find but in the size you need you'll probably see it in the drapery/uphostery department at a local fabric store. Just ask, if you have a fabric store worker who sews, she should be able to find it for you.
