I was wondering is anyone has used and of these patterns?? They are made my Simplicity~ I think the cloths are very pretty!!
I am wanting to work on some clothes for summer....
Some of the tops look like fabric that is flowing~ any ideas about that??
Any advise will be great!!
I already have several of the patterns, but cutting on my dining room table was back breaking so now that I have a nice table I will be sewing!

Flowy would be lt. wt. cottons and cotton blends. Also rayons and chiffon if the style is really full. I love crinkle cotton myself.

I've collected several of the patterns too but I haven't taken time to sew them. Some of the pattern lines look like they would be quite flattering.

I went and picked up 2 of the newest patterns for a few summer outfits!!
I hope they turn out nice~I think these actually look flattering in the photos.. and I hope they look at least 1/2 that good on me.
I will post photos once I get one finished!

Thanks for posting the link Mary~I love the dress #5110 and 5074! The new ones I picked up are 4556 and 4607.
Today I bought some of that flowing material to make the ponchos to wear over a tank top~ Couldn't pass up the fabric ~ only $1 a yard at Hobby Lobby!

Please let us know how they turn out, and post pics if you can.
I have quite a few in my pattern stash, but sadly with 3 dds there isn't much time for me to sew for myself. This might just be the kick I need though, to see some of yours made up.

Not really sure what fabric to use for that top...I love it as well!!
Here is what the pattern calls for~

Fabrics: Laundered Cottons, Silks and Silk Types, Challis, Crepe, Crepe Back Satin, Laundered
Silks-Rayons, Double Georgette, Matte Jerseys, Handkerchief Linen. Extra fabric needed to ma
tch plaids, stripes or one-way design fabrics.

Any ideas~

I just made the duster jacket from the Khahlia Ali pattern #5075.
I was impressed by how easy it was to put together, and the fit.
I sewed a size 20W (the smallest in the envelope that I had purchased), and I ended up taking the shoulders up 1" and taking in 1" on each side. I think the size 18W might have been really close to fitting me straight out of the envelope. After all the fitting problems I have had lately, this was a dream come true, lol! :dave:
Even the sleeves set in easily. Hooray! A fitting success!

Happy Sewing,
Jen
PS: MGF, did you sew up any of her patterns yet? What were your impressions?

I bought 4 of her patterns the other day at Hobby Lobby. (on sale for 99 cents each).. The one I wanted the most , they were out of my size, of course.. The bathing suit was what I wanted from that pattern group.. That was the one they were out of my size..I'm going to watch for the next sale and try again.. I haven't used any of them yet, but I do like the looks of them..

Remember that if you have the ad, Wal Mart will usually price match, at least around here they will.

My local Walmarts (Southern California) price match too with the flyer from either Hancock's or JoAnn's--my nearest Walmart is 5 miles from my house---the nearest Hancock's and JoAnn's are 25 miles away.

Hi all, do you mean that Walmart will price match even when Joann has patterns on sale for 99 cents? If so that is cool... :bluesmile

HI!, I have used about 3 of her pattrns now and they're great!, after having my son, I"m not a skinny minnie, and I thought my size was off the charts haha, but I made the poncho and it flt so good to fit into something flattering, the only mistake I made was to use fabric that was a bit too loud for my body type, something more pastel, I made my sister-in-law the dress, it's beautiful!......kudo's to the patterns, quite worth it

The Simplicity patterns are on sale at Handcock Fabrics! That means you could pick up all of these for 99 cents each! What a deal!
