sounds like one I might enjoy doing...depending on requirements. Have tons of quilt blocks to finish yet too so this will be a nice diversion.

OK, I am relatively new to this group...how does this work? I am already sewing for kids for spring. Have a granddaughter that is 6 and a friends granddaughter that is almost 5. My granddaughter thinks it is great that grandma makes things for her. She shows them to everyone that will look! The friends granddaughter calls me Aunt Sue and she is thrilled when I send her something. This looks like it will be fun.

I'm dumb. I also don't know how this works. We sew any two items for kids - then send pictures in by the deadline?

And what IS the deadline?

Sorry for the dunce questions but I haven't done a S-W-N contest yet!

Can one of the two pieces be an outfit for a doll? I'm making some dress up clothes for my niece and (if there's enough cloth left over) a matching outfit for her doll.

Nope, nothing has started yet. I will post details today or tomorrow for sure.

When I was away I saw the most beautiful girls dresses for sale in a high end boutique. They were smocked in the bodice area with the cutest motifs. One dress had mice climbing up crayons. The dresses were 100% cotton, short puffy sleeves and collars had piping and the dress had french seams. The piping was the same colors as the smocking threads. All were between size 5 - 8. Another had some white eyelet trim around a plain neckline. They embroidered tiny roses in between the eyelet holes. $150.00 each!

Beautiful work.

Hi, I just joined your group and sent in a picture of a dress I made for my granddaughter to enter in the Children's Outfit Challenge. I was just wondering where the challenge pictures will be shown. Also if I did not do something right please let me know.

Maybe you could explain two pieces better. Can it be a dress and hat?

Well... I finished Jamie's baptism outfit and sent in my pix, I almost went blind trimming behind the lace, the booties were really fun and went together easily, next time I'm going to put embroidery on the top of the instep.
