I have put up a few photos of my latest projects - a couple of skirts I did for my mum. The last one is the black and white 60's looking circle skirt (I still haven't taken a pic with her wearing the tulle underskirt, but I'll be posting that soon). I am also going to make her a matching top with the fabric left over, sweetheart neckline and thin straps. I also have to get someone to take a pic of myself with my black straight skirt. Sorry the photos aren't great quality, I took them with my mobile phone's camera (I'm waiting for my nice new digital camera!!) I hope you like them! http://selene.photosite.com/sewing/ Selene Selene

Thankyou! I'm glad you like them! I hope I can get some more pics up soon! Very nice skirts! Which pattern company makes that one? I really like it alot! Thanks! needle_elf, which of the two is it you like? I'm afraid my last projects have all been drafted by myself. The beige skirt is a 10-gore skirt I drafted from a basic sloper (this is the first thing I have drafted myself). The black and white one is just a simple circle skirt... with an awful lot of hemming!! The tulle underskirt is the same pattern but has a ruffle which comes out about one inch at the bottom of the skirt. I've also drafted the fitted bodice to go with it but haven't had time to get onto that. Looking forward to finishing my final exams and getting on to more sewing!! Selene Selene

Very nice! You did a great job drafting them! Wish I knew how to do that. Your mum's very lucky indeed!

Beautiful job! I deeply admire someone that can sew like that - garments don't like me at all, they never turn out. I was also admiring the pictures on the walls in the background - lovely! Allie "onward through the fog"

I'm really glad you liked my skirts! I haven't been sewing for very long but I'm REALLY enjoying it! Especially learning to draft my own patterns and modifying them to create garments I really like and with the exact measurements of the person I'm doing it for. I'm teaching myself with this so there are many things I don't know how to do or can't think how to work it out, so any help is welcome! Also completely self-taught in the actual construction and sewing techniques. So I very often have questions! Oh, and the paintings are all my dad's! He is a great artist! Selene Selene

Nice job on the skirts. I can't think you can be very old if she's your mother! |
