I guess there was wad of chewing gum somehow stuck to the bottom of my bag. When I was sitting on the bus and put the bag in my lap it ended up on my pants. I put the pants in the freezer and managed to get most of it off but there is a thin layer of gum remaining on the pants. I have tried scraping it but there is still some on the pants. The pants are cotton but they are fairly new - only worn a couple of times.

Should I try washing them now and hope that it will come off? Or will it make it worse? What have any of you tried that works? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

All I know is to put an ice cube on it.

Freeze it and scrape it with something dull. (butterknife, wrong edge). Hairspray might stiffen it to get it off. (scrape again)
You might try a rubber eraser....just don't use the same spot, turn the eraser so the sticky parts don't re-stick. (if you have an art eraser, kneaded, that might work better)

Actually peanut butter will get it out, but you have to be sure the grease spot won't stain. We used that remedy when the kids were little.

There is a product you can buy (I got mine at the grocery store) called "GOO GONE" It works great on just about anything I have tried it on especially grease spots on clothes. You use it to get price stickers off of things so I would think it would work on chewing gum too. I don't wash without it!!

Thanks for the tips...I'm gonna give them a try and see if I can save my pants.
