I was wondering if anyone knew where I could download a pattern for a lap quilt with a boat theme. I want to make a quilt for my little boy. I was going to do a plane one I got off the internet. But I can find any material with planes on it. There seems to be a lot of material with boats but I don't have a pattern to follow. Can anyone help Debbie M |

I peeked, too, even though the answer was not addressed to me. (Hope that's allowed!) Thanks for the info. I love looking at quilt sites and seeing how others put colors together. Maybe our Advent Quilt BOM should include a sailboat to represent "Summer Vacation Wishes" ( ). |

I just bought the Better Homes and Gardens Quilts & More magazine. They have a pattern for a very cute, and easy sailboat crib quilt. This can be made larger for a child too! They show you a couple of versions, maybe even a larger one for the adults who like sailboats?!

Hi Joanne, Whether or not you choose a sailboat block for our Advent Quilt, I would really like to learn how to do paper piecing and hope it's on your list of things to teach us (and think the sailboat looks nice and simple). I've read some instructions on "how to paper piece" though, and wonder how on earth you could explain it via the web so us beginners could say, "Oh, piece of cake"! (Perhaps I am not the only one who has difficulty thinking upside down and backwards - as paper piecing looks to me to be!) |
