I loved the idea of the baby bonnett and also the poem. But I have a question about "Insert wing needle and touch the entredeux stitch". I am not sure what this stitch is. I am sure I could go searching but I think you would probably be able to enlighten me. I don't think I have that one on my machine and I have never used a wing needle. Can I do something else instead?

Thanks
Jennifer

jennifer... what kind of machine do you have? I have never done heirloom sewing, although I'd like to learn, so I also was unfamiliar with which stitch to use. Since my machine is a Brother, I went to the Brother site and eventually found an explanation and a listing of the entredeux stitches on my machine...

Let me see if I can answer this a little bit. Entredeux is a type of lace that has two finished edges. Both edges are straight. This type of lace is usually used in heirloom sewing and is stitched between two pieces of fabric with a specific stitch. You could use the hemstitch or a wing needle.

Thank you Mary and Mo

I think I understand it a litle better. Like a lot of things it will make better sense once I get started on a project. Mo, I have an Elna sewing machine so I can check their website I am sure.

Thanks for you help.
