Joanne, let's say we are only doing 2 spools (like yours), what size do we cut each of the plain squares? 6 1/2 inches??

I would say yes but when you have finished your spool block and pressed it, measure it and match the size. |

Hey JoAnne, I get the triangles all sewn and sew them to the top of the spools. Okay now I am sewing the middle to the top and the bottom, and am having a heck of a time getting the points to match the middle part of the thread. Any hints for me? They are just a bit off, but I seem to have this problem with traingles going onto of squares. Does this make any sense? They are going the right way. Summer Summer

Summer, I don't know if I am understanding your problem...by any when you are joining the top and middle rows, are the seams going in the same direction or in opposite directions. They should be going in opposite directions so you can butt the seam together making it easier for the seams to align when you sew. Here is a site that has some pictures for pinning and aligning the seams. Maybe this will help? http://www.mccallsquilting.com/artheblk/pintips/ TTFN from
