Hello, I'm looking for just a bloomer/ panty pattern for infants. I have a bunch of dress patterns, just no panties, and I would preffer not to have to buy more dress patterns just to get the panties... anyone have any ideas!? Just when I thought it was over....

Are you just looking for a diaper cover like thing or knee length bloomers? I have the Kwik Sew books Sewing for Babies, Sewing for Toddlers and Sewing for Children. I am pretty sure that the baby one and maybe the toddler one have a pattern and instructions for making the frilly panties that cover diapers. I highly suggest these books to anyone who sews for children. They are full of basic patterns and simple instructions that you can apply to your other patterns as well. Gina

Hi there. - I'm new here but have been reading awhile. I'm getting ready to use a modified cabbage patch pants pattern to make new granddaughter some eyelet pantaloons/britches to go under dresses or some small print versions as light weight pants for over onesey's. She's 10 days old. Try looking at the larger doll patterns, find one that fits and gradually enlarge it as she grows. AngieM2 |

There is a pattern from Simplicity #9605 that has Pantaloons [Bloomers] with it. It starts at size 1/2. I have used it and the pattern is quite small. I sometimes find it easier to make the pattern smaller than larger! |

I agree with Gina on the Kwik Sew pattern books for children. I have the ones for babies, toddlers and children as I do a lot of sewing for ther grand kids. Lots of basic outfits with ideas for for accessorizing etc, easy to follow instructions. In the Sew News magazine from last June it has an article on sprucing up bloomers with appliques. Very cute. They recommend Kwik Sew 3112. I don't know what else comes on that pattern, you could go to the site and see.

Itty, you have been very busy at the sewing machine!!! Good for you! I was thinking, maybe you could use a diaper as a template. Spread it over the fabric, cut wide--esp for the back half, sew on some 3/4 inch wide eyelet rows on the back half, sew side seams, and add elastic to legs and waist. Those tiny frilly bloomers are so cute on wee ones under a little dress! Andrea
