Mary, This is my first post to this forum. I appreciate the info and tid-bits you pass along. I enjoyed reading the article on the sewing business competition and it reminded me of when those 'cheapo' haircut places started sprouting all over the US. A beauty salon put a sign in front of their business that said "We FIX $8.00 haircuts!" So much for the 'el cheapo' place down their block. Which goes to say that it isn't the quantity, but the quality that counts. Alice in TX |

No, Mary, I don't, but wish I did. I've got an Imagine BabyLok that I've had for several years; and Santa was nice to me last season and gave me a new sewing machine that can do much more than just straight stitching. Also, my daughter's taking a class in fashion. She's a junior in HS, so the need was there so that she could also do her assignments. I like to sew home dec stuff cause I usually can't find what I like/need in the stores. I've done some fashion sewing, mainly for special occasions and Halloween costumes. I live in the smallest county in the state. I moved here 2 years ago and noticed that there's only one source for a very limited upholstery/drapery supply, and have contemplated filling that void by having my own shop, but you know how that can go. Wishing and hoping is fine. Maybe someday! Enjoyed talking to you. Hope the weather is warming up a bit for you. Before long ours will be scorching! But all's well and that's all that matters. |
