If you can help this lady, please respond here. Thanks. I am looking for a pattern for sewing pallbearer arm bands. A lady who helps lower income people by providing them with alternative lower cost sympathy items, asked if I would be able to sew some. I didn't have a clue! These arm bands are frequently worn by pallbearers at aboriginal funerals. I basically recall them looking somewhat like a garter but would like a true rendering as it's quite difficult to ask questions during a funeral when a family is grieving. Hopefully you can help me with this one. MaryW

I've never made any , but the ones I see are 3 or 4 inches wide and fit over the coat of the man's suit on his upper arm.. I don't know how they are held in place..

this is just a guess, but I would imagine you could do about 6 inches by say 3 inches wide.. and then on the back side (toward the body) you could use a narrow sleeve of elastic... just my 2 cents... MO life is too short, not to explore

This is just a thought but maybe you could call a funeral home and ask them, I would think that they should know or be able to steer you in the right direction. |
