Hi all, Well all of the lounging bottoms for men either have no zipper, snaps, or buttons, or nothing. My husband wanta a ZIPPER IN HIS  I can't seem to find a pattern that has a zipper, would it be hard to get a pattern like a pajama pattern that has a placket and put a zipper in?? I am what you call a beginner. I don't know what other kind of pattern would have a zipper in, I don't want to make regular pants, I want loungers. I was hoping to find a pattern with the zipper, I think I could follow the directions, I am not to good at changing a pattern. :nervous:

Thanks, Scrappy

my question is.... why does he want a zipper? just curious, would he be happy with just a centered slot zipper in the center front seam? That would be easy to put in. or you could add extra wide seam allowances 2.5cm or so and create a "mock fly " look with the widened allowance,
just a couple of thoughts

Thanks for the suggestions, I guess he likes Zippers because I used to buy him jogging outfits and they always had zippers. they have become so expensive that I just want to make him some out of fleece or flannel. What you suggested may work though, he just dosen't like the ones your with no opening. I will see what he thinks of the idea, maybe snaps would be alright also. Thanks again,
Scrappy

You might try talking him into snap tape in the "mock fly". That tape is so easy to install and the snaps are nice and heavy. They are also installed close enough together to give some "privacy".

Thanks Pam, That sounds like a great idea. There is so much new stuff out there, I need to dig in and start finding out about it. Sewing clothes is something I really would like to get into, I mostly just make quilts, etc. I will look into the snap tape.

Thanks again, scrappy
