I need to freehand some lettering to embroider onto a project and don't know where to start. Is there somewhere on the internet that helps with this? Do I use cursive or printing? |

I guess it all depends on what you are working on and the size as well. The style should blend with the fabric and project.

Well, I still can't find anything on the internet helpful, so what I did was go into my microsoft word program and chose the largest size lettering I could, chose a nice script and printed it out! LOL I will try to trace this onto the fabric and then embroder it. Thought I would post this in case anybody else needs the same thing in the future...I think it will work! |

I have done it free hand in the past, but it is a bit tricky (back in the day before I had a computer). Taking the font from word and tracing it sounds like it is much easier. Thank goodness I have a machine now to do that...haha, I am getting lazy in my old age. my brother in law just asked me to embroider his name on one of his work shirts last week. I wold probably still be futzing with it if I was doing it by hand. Don't be so open minded your brains fall out.

It worked beautifully! I did end up printing the lettering out, then I scanned it and enlarged it so I could get just the right size!! It's all done now and I sandwiched the wallhanging yesterday and should get it quilted tomorrow. |
