I just got a new Babylock Ellure machine for my business. I was wondering if anyone has the Babylock Palette 6.0 or the Brother version? It is another $900 and I want to make sure it's worth it before I invest in it. Do you like it, is it easy to run and use? I would love some help. Thanks ladies!

one suggestion... if you decide to go with palette or pedesign (pretty much the same thing) spend the extra dollars and buy the Loes tutorial... there are a number of sites that have it for about $95. It is well worth the money...

I just wanted to comment that all embroidery software has a learning curve like any other software does.Yes,if you buy get a tutorial and don't expect to be able to produce wonderful designs right away.It takes time to learn to digitize properly.Give yourself time and learn to use it.Try not to get too frustrated, sometimes what looks wonderful on screen doesn't stitch out so good.Good-luck!

I use PE for digitizing and such. I really like it alot, I had a great teacher and she does have her lessons on cd and not expensive like most. She is very thorough. If interested let me know and I will send you her site or email.

I started out with palette and when the upgrade came out I switched to PE-Design; I would suggest anyone do that. Even though they are made by the same company and appear to be exactly the same; doing this poses a few problems.

I'd opt for PE-Design - it's easy to learn and very user friendly. It will take you a little while to learn the tools and how to use them, but if you experiment, you'll do fine. The only part I feel is pretty worthless is the Design Center. This is where you import a picture and the software automatically "punches" the design for you. It's tedious, time consuming and you're better off to manual punch your designs through layout and editing. The only thing I've found that Design Center is good for is creating that running outline people seem to like around some designs.

Anyway, I love it and use it all the time. It's worth the money only if you plan on learning how to manually digitize. Once created, you just import them to your punched design in layout and editing and voila' - you've got a seamless outline without manually running it!
