:bang: HELP please, i've been banging my head against a brick wall. Can anyone tell me how I go about altering elastic waist bands on skirts to a normal stiff waist with a zip in it? Please, please, please - I'm trying to re-vamp an old wardrobe without having to go out and spend lots of money. Thanks

I tried doing this on a pair of shorts that had elastic in the back that I hated wearing, so I took the elastic out, found a pattern for a pair of shorts I liked and put in the darts, did a bit of adjusting for the side seams, and sewed them back together. I would think it would work on a complete elastic waistband, if you have a pattern for a skirt you really like. Hope that made sense, and good luck, sounds like you have a job ahread of you!!
