No there isn't much of a choice. Most people feel that they have to dress their babies in these types of material. While they will not burn like a silk, they will burn somehwhat. Something I learned is that babies over 9 months are more able to get into something that can cause their clothing to catch on fire. So the object I was told is to make sure they have snug fitting clothing, not the loose flowing. For babies under 9 months their chances of getting into something that could cause their clothes to catch on fire is lessen. They do have chemicals that you can purchase to make fabric flame retardent, but then you have to wash these a special way.
Don't know if this helps any.

Safety Commission<< (http://www.cpsc.gov/BUSINFO/frnotices/fr96/frsleeplg.pdf) doesn't require sleepwear for babies under nine months to be flame-retardent. Also, "tight-fitting" sleepwear is exempt.

Anything with 50% or more polyester is flame resistant. What I worry about though is it will melt which can cause a worse burn than flames. I use whatever I have for children I hope they don't play with fire. If there is a house fire I don't think that it is going to make much difference in what clothes they are wearing. Smoke inhalation is worse on children than the actual fire.
Just my 2 cents.
