I just got the newest "Creative Expressions by Jenny Haskins" and it has part one of this new quilt. My question is,does anyone know what fabric she is using in this and where to find it.It says it is a floral tapestry but I'm wondering if in Austrailia if tapestry is different than it is here? That seems like an awfully heavy fabric to use for a quilt?Any leads on it will be greatly appreciated. You can view the quilt at:

Yes,I am totally in love with it!I don't care if it takes years,I really want to do it.If I can only figure out where to get the fabric.Keep your fingers crossed that I can find out what it is.Atleast I have part one of the pattern. The larger photo in the magazine shows all of the embroidery alot better than the online one does,so it is even more gorgeous and I can't imagine what it would look like in person.

OK,I did email Jenny Haskin's site and found out that this is real tapestry fabric.Unfortunately all I got about it was that it was bought in an Atlanta,GA Hancock's fabrics. We don't have one anywhere near here and their online site doesn't have tapestry fabric.:( BOO HOO!! Does anyone possibly have an online site that might have a decent selection of floral tapestry so I might find something close?

It must be a tapestry-like print. It couldn't be actual tapestry fabric. What about Jinny Beyer. She has very ornate elegant prints.

Chris, why not look into a beautiful chintz fabric instead? Tapestry would cost you an absolute fortune. I do know they make a tapestry that is not heavy but you are looking at mega bucks. It runs about $30 a yard here in canada. Here is an australian site with fabrics that are to die for but look at the prices lol

No it is real tapestry.I emailed Jenny and that is what the email said.I know it will be expensive,it takes 3-4 yards of just that fabric depending on the repeat.I have kind of been thinking that I could probably do something similar with a large floral print?Haven't decided yet.

I hear that alot of Pfaff dealers are supposed to offer the classes on it like they did with the "Colour Purple" quilt,so if they do that then the fabric should be easier to get.Yes,the fabrics I have found that were similar are in the $50 per yard range.OUCH,but it really is beautiful!

Thanks for the link will go look!

IMHO-- Real tapestry would not drape like that .. it would be way too heavy..

OK,besides the email from Jenny site telling me it is tapestry fabric I also had an interior decorator tell me that there is a drapery weight tapestry.I suspect that that is really what this is made of.:) Please everyone keep your eyes open while you are out shopping online and let me know if anyone comes across this type of fabric.I'd greatly appreciate any help.I was also told that this type of tapestry is much more reasonable in price than the other so that was really good news.
