Perhaps, I am just lucky on the first try, but I just used the Click and Sew CD's put out by Wild Ginger Software, Inc, and I had great success with a long straight skirt. I should say, much greater success than with any other method so far.
I am now fairly overweight and out of shape. It is hard to maintain when one has very bad knees. Some days even walking hurts tremendously. I so thank God for every good day. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it.
Anyway, it has been ever so hard to get a skirt to fit. Store bought patterns were requiring way too many adjustments.

So one day I bought the Click and Sew.

It is pretty simple.

I put it off though until now when I MUST have a dress for my son's wedding.
I have nice shoes now, but I doubt anyone would appreciate me showing up only in nice shoes. That is why I tried the CD's.

I just wanted to say how happy I was with the skirt part. I will let you know how the top fits in another day or two. I have not decided if I work on quilting a customer quilt tomorrow or sew this top tomorrow. I hope the shirt part works as well as the skirt.

Anyone else try these patterns and like them? The price is sure reasonable.

Kay, I've not heard of these cd's. Where do you get them? Will be anxious to hear how your top comes out. Do you put your measurements into the program and it prints out a pattern for you? Would love any info you can provide. Thanks. I usually just make clothes for the grandchildren because I hate sewing for myself as nothing ever really fits right even with making adjustments so this certainly sounds intriguing!

I'd also love to find out what it costs, as well. Sounds very interesting. I'd love to get software to write patterns, but they are all so expensive.

I downloaded Wildthings from them. It is pretty cool and free. It does hats, bags, wraps and ponchos you just tell it what size and style and it prints it right out. I am going to play around with that for a bit and see how I like it before I buy. You can also get free downloads of their clothing patterns that lets you see how it works. You can do everything except print and save.

The CD's are made by wildginger company. I bought mine at a local fabric shop, but they have stopped carrying them. They are going to be offering a class on both C&S and Patternmaster. I plan on taking the class and whatever I learn about getting more CD's I will pass on to this group.

Today is a very busy day. With wedding looming, and shower today, and a quilt to make before Saturday (wedding day) for bride and groom, I haven't time to take picture to show yet. Hopefully tomorrow I will take a pic or two and put them here to show how the outfit came out using the two C & S discs.

The discs were about $50 each, but I did buy them awhile before gas prices went up. That may affect the price now.

I know PM is much more expensive, but instead of entering about 20 measurements like in C&S there are many many more to enter.

Yes, you measure yourself according to the specific pictured directions in the software, enter the measurements, and then go to the design page. Each design page has several variations. The blouse choices I had were for halter top, jumper, sundress and sheath. You can choose long or short sleeves. You can have scoop, v, boat and jewel necklines. You can shoose about 3 pocket shapes. You can choose to have no closures, button closures, and zippered closures although all assumed a front closure. If you work with patterns anyway, you can easily change the front zip to a back one. No, straight and shirt collar options are offered. You set the ease you want in bust, waist and hip areas. There are several other neat things one can do with this.

I did find that the back seemed a bit narrow, and the sleeve cap was too narrow, but the rest of the shirt was very very close to what I needed.
