:bang: [FONT=Comic Sans MS][COLOR=Black]i havent used my machine in over a year. its been sitting in a corner and hasnt been touched. i pulled it out to use this morning and the only way to work it is with the on/off button. the pedal wont work at all. it was brand new when i put it away and worked just fine. its gotten frustrating.

When you want to have another font color type in between the double brackets ]here[ and your text will be the color you want.
You could try replugging in the cord to make sure it is connected tight.....trying blowing on the end.......may be dusty. You can also try cleaning out your foot pedal carefully. That may be dusty also.
Can't think of anything else to try,

Does your machine have some sort of activation button that switches the control from the machine to the pedal? (Mine doesn't if the pedal is attached it works and so does the machine, but that is a possiblity and it would be easy to push a button some place in set up.). Make sure that the foot control is plugged into the correct place on the machine and that it is properly connected at the foot control itself. Sometimes the control has a connection port, some do not. Is it possible that the foot control is not fully depressing so that it isn't activating? Otherwise I am clueless about this. I guess it is possible that your foot control has gone bad but I can't imagine why it would if it were just in storage unless it had a bad connection some place I really think that they are a pretty elementary contraption (I don't know).

One more thing....make sure you didn't leave the clutch disengaged. You might've wound a bobbin and forgot to reengage it so the needle will work.

If you can give us the make and model number, that would help us in troubleshooting. Also is it an electrical footpedal, connected to the machine with wires?
