I was tearing my hair out over my latest project - the Chinese collar dress (http://www.ottobredesign.com/lehdet_js/2004_4/sivut/13.html) from Ottobre 4/2004. Had a collar, neckline and facing that looked HORRIBLE right after I put the facing in and I felt I was out of my league to fix it. I took it to Nancy, a local seamsress. I had planned to just leave the damn thing at her place and pay whatever it cost for her to fix it, but she said I could do it. She instructed me on how to clip and where to clip and how to understitch and other ways to anchor the facing. I guess I just thought it looked bad and underestimated how much the clipping etc. made it all better... anyway spent about 5 minutes on it at home and it's looking VASTLY improved. It is so nice to have a seamstress help you when you are out of your league! She spent 20 minutes with me free of charge... I think I am going to get her a little gift certificate for a coffee shop or something (ideas, anyone?). see the mundane life of a housewife.

If she's a coffee drinker Blackie, a gift package of gourmet coffee would be a wonderful idea. Patsy Patsy

Yeah, something home made. Yummy fudge or cookies that look like buttons. LOL.
