I will start this off, then everyone is welcome to add their own law.

No matter how many pr. of scissors you have, they are always on the other side of the sewing room when you need them.

No matter how many pairs of paper cutting scissors you have in the house, your husband ALWAYS tries to use your fabric scissors on paper, plastic, etc.

It doesn't matter that you have 300 spools of thread, you always NEED that certain color you DON'T have.

You forgot to get new needles. You will ALWAYS forget to take out that pin you are using to hold the pieces together.........................broken needle!

You can almost complete a project thinking "YES! I got it perfect on the first try." And then something goes wrong! Even if it's a little something, there's always something! Why is that?!

No matter how many reading glasses you have attached to chains to go around your neck, you will still forget that pair which you parked on top of your head when you can't find ANY.

If you can't fine the pin you dropped on the floor, your husband will find it with his bare feet.

Other people feel it's their duty to give you sewing projects for them to keep you busy, otherwise, you might run out of fun interesting sewing projects.

Everything dangerous in the sewing room is a magnet for my two boys. Every time I think everything is out of reach, they find something I hadn't thought of!

The bobbin runs out of thread just before the last couple of seams.

No, Zabelle, the bobbin runs out in the middle of one of the final seams -- or better yet a blind hem or a button hole.

Dear hubby walks in just when I am easing in a difficult sleeve and says "are you doing anything"?

A pair of scissors, when dropped, will always land in the nearest soft object (your feet).

No matter how many times you have made an article from a pattern the only time you screw it up is when it is for an important event or you dont have enough fabric to make another one.

The seam you have to rip out is the one in which you also forgot to increase the stitch length back to normal.

The number of projects you finish is directly inverse to the amount of fabric, notions, and equipment you buy

Serged seams are always the ones that you have to rip out and re-do :)

An iron will only fall off your ironing board and land on nylon fabric when its HOT. (What a mess!!!)

You find your favorite sewing scissors you've been missing the next time hubby digs them out of his toolbox to use for carpet cutting.

How about the opposite of Murphy's Law? Times when you have been undeservedly lucky?

Here's a recent one of mine. Made some test buttonholes and noticed the bobbin was getting low. Note to self: remember to fill bobbin. Self forgot. Made first buttonhole on garment, the top one of course, the most visible, and the bobbin ran out at the END of the buttonhole. There was not even so much as a milimetre of thread left to cut off. Lucky self.
