I will start this off and everyone can add their own personal law.

No matter how much fabric you have bought, you are not going to have enough for the quilt you want to make.

No matter how much fabric you have youi REALLY can't resist that 40% off table....even though the fabric may not go with what you have.

You should have purchased at least one more 1/2 yard of whatever fabric was on sale.

Even though you don't need any more fabric and you are just checking out what's on sale, you will still come home with some.

Somehow despite carefully measuring, your block has ended up just a little smaller than 12 inches.

You thought you had bought the perfect fabric to match some at home, only to find out it dosn't fit, so you have to buy to match the new fabric.

carman,
I like #12 on that list. :bluewink: which leads to my law...

If I decide to make a quilt as a Christmas gift for someone, I WILL still be sewing on binding at 11:30 pm on Christmas Eve.

you must have the whole quilt top sewn together before you notice the one block that has a mistake in it.

After you settle in for the evening in your favourite chair with a nice cup of coffee, your quilt, threads, scissors, needles and other assorted necessities, the cat wants to go out. :re:

Even though you have sprayed and pin your quilt/batting/backing together, a piece of the backing will manage to unglue/unpin itself, fold backwards and get quilted in that way!!!! :bang:

It is true Grandma Sue, I just finished a scrappy rail fence and discovered when I was pressing it that I had two blocks of the same print right next to each other.................... :bang:

My rule...............no matter how many things you have started, you find a pattern that you just have to try NOW..........before you finish what you were working on.
