Joanne so glad you got your package! I know I certainly enjoyed working on the squares. Thanks so much for all you do. I've done more quilting since joining this board because you along with everyone else are so encouraging! Can't wait to see what you do with the quilt squares!

Maybe our other Canadians will receive theirs soon!

Hey, Teach,
Did you notice that even though I don't feel qualified to join a block swap (not skilled enough yet) I did want to show you that I am trying real hard, so I sent you a block to show how much I appreciate you...Does that make you feel Special?? It should , because you are very special.. :bg: :bg: :bg:

I did notice that Libby and I thought you did a wonderful job. When quilters make blocks for other quilters there is no greater appreciation in my opinion :)

I agree Libby that should join in on our Christmas Swap. None of us are perfect, and we all just do our best and it seems to come out okay for all of us. We are not here to knit-pick on each other. Come on girl, you will have fun with us, and it is a JOY to receive so many blocks from all over everywhere~ Sure hoping the Canada blocks made it to our friends today!

I know Brenda but I had to raze her a little bit. Shrrrrr don't tell her it's okay, make her think she needs to make the Christmas swap to make up for not doing this one. Jan do you hear me!!!!! you have to do the Christmas one. We are not taking "no" for an answer. If you'd like I'll chip in for the postage. How about it. :nah: :nah: :nah: :nah:

LIBBY, You sent one in also? you better get in that Christmas swap too. If I can do it so can you gals. I am a novice for sure. All the things you two make you can put some blocks together with your name on them. Come on You can do it, as the Water Boy says, "You can do it all night long" ROFL :nah:

By the way Libby. I didn't know your name was Capps. I had a teacher in 9th grade named Ms Capps and she was from North Carolina. That name must be common up there then huh?

Susie,
Every Capps I have ever met can sooner or later trace their lineage back to an Admiral of the British Navy who was drummed out for alcoholism and after that emigrated to the US.. He was farther back than the 4th generation of my family.. I am having a problem getting any farther back on that side.. Still looking cause its fun... :bg: :bg: :bg:
PS.. I was afraid to enter the block swap, because it takes me a long time to measure and then cut down the blocks after the triangles are sewed together. I have to make them from squares or they get stretched, it does not matter how careful I am, it still happens.. :bang: :bang:

Libby, you can start your Christmas blocks now-they aren't due until the end of September-or pick one without triangles. Please think about joining, none of us are perfect, we all make mistakes but we've all had great fun doing the block swap and I know we've all been very pleased with what we've received!

Jan, you need to think about joining too!! I want English fabric!! LOL

Come on Libby join in if you want to. I am no quilter but did the first one and am doing this one. No one expects them to be perfect, just the fact that you made it for us. So don't worry about that part, it is the fun and the wondering and excitement of it all.

I've made one complete quilt and one quilt top (have to finish up the last 2 blocks) and I may be hooked! Made both of them from leftover pieces of fabric and scraps (I used to do custom sewing), bought only one small piece of fabric for 4th of July block for the flag on it. Quilt batts were given me by someone who changed her mind about using them! Hope I can get this moving over with and finish my 2 uncompleted blocks by Christmas--one of my daughters wants the 2nd quilt :coffee2: and the first already belongs to another daughter! MariLynntx
